WE ARE PETER AND MAY
Founded in 2012 by Parisian born-and-raised duo, Laura Le Bihan and Xavier Matrand, Peter and May emerged from their shared decision to embark on a new journey together after over a decade of experience in the high-end eyewear industry.
Armed with their knowledge of the trade and its tools, as self-taught creators, they naturally discovered the behind-the-scenes aspects of eyewear manufacturing over the years.
We are having a professional histoire d'amour
In 2014, the duo presented their first collection.
In 2015, one of their creations was worn by Scarlett Johansson in Luc Besson's film LUCY, and their collection was showcased at Colette: PETER AND MAY was launched. Under a name uniting their flair, experience, and shared passion, PETER AND MAY stands for the duo’s complementarity, as they put it. This synergy has shaped the DNA of their collection. Along the way, Peter and May has become synonymous with the Parisian spirit and nonchalant essence - something that dresses you with elegant modernity and instilling confidence in one's everyday style. In French, this is known as ‘Allure’.

GENESIS
Their initial inspiration originated from a small hallmarked button crafted by a French fashion house, which they discovered in an antique shop. This distinctive cross-stitch design hence became the brand’s defining feature.
From the start, the project was meant to become an integral creative studio.
PETER AND MAY pieces soon appeared in prestigious showrooms and international fashion shows, and quickly gained strong support from the likes of Colette, Moda Operandi, and Dover Street Market thanks to their designs. The duo has always worked very closely with the fashion industry, designing pieces for the fashion shows of high-end designers, such as Wanda Nylon, introducing a capsule collection for the brand that won the ANDAM prize that year.
