Founded in 2012 in Paris, PETER AND MAY is the duo comprised of Laura Le Bihan and Xavier Matrand after their common journey in high-end eyewear retail. Their first inspiration came from a small button punched by a French fashion house found in an antique shop. Hence, the cross-stitch became the brand’s distinctive code.
At the very core of the design intent is a sum that combines thoughtful shapes, comfort and technical demands for sunglasses and eyeglasses.
Furthermore, the brand's imagery and collaborations are an additional medium of expression for the duo, in their imagination and desire to create.
Their project's main essence has always been to establish themselves as an integrated creative studio.
From the very beginning, they appeared in prestigious showrooms and took part in international fashion shows. Their designs quickly enabled them to gain strong support from the likes of Colette, Moda Operandi, and Dover Street Market.
Today, the duo is teaming up with French fashion designers - JACQUEMUS, ÉTUDES - with whom they are partners in production and distribution of their very first eyewear collections.
