Founded in 2012 in Paris, PETER AND MAY is the duo comprised of born-and-raised Parisians Laura Le Bihan and Xavier Matrand after their common journey in high-end retail eyewear.
We are having a pro-fessional histoire d'amour
The two designers were inspired to embark on their own journey, taking with them all the tips and tools from years of acquired knowledge of customers, self-learning the behind the scenes of the manufacturing process.
In 2013, the duo presented their first collection. In 2014, one of their creations is worn by Scarlett Johansson in Luc Besson's film LUCY, and their collection was presented at Colette. PETER AND MAY is launched: a name that unites their flair, experience, and shared passion, which they sum up as "PETER AND MAY is the name of our complementarity. "This complementarity has contributed to the DNA of their collection of well-made, comfortable everyday eyewear, with one foot in fashion. They create their collections together: Laura is in charge of communications, global development, and production, while Xavier oversees drawing, collection plans, and their coherence, as well as the technical nature of the designs.
Their first inspiration came from a small button punched by a French fashion house found in an antique shop. Hence, the cross-stitch became the brand’s distinctive code.
At the very core of the design is a product that combines thoughtful shapes, comfort, and technical demands.
Eclectic, contemporary, fresh - PETER AND MAY products represent the perfect merging of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail.
The duo is teaming up with French fashion designers – JACQUEMUS and ÉTUDES - as well as upcoming designers - Lecourt Mansion, WEAR MARCIA - with whom they are partners in the design, production and very selective distribution.
